Take a trip west of downtown Miami to Doral for some hilarious can-label art wrapped around some delicious beer.

The next stop I knew we needed to make on our trip around Miami's beer scene was to one the other hypiest spots around this area: Tripping Animals. They're known for making some of the juiciest of the hazys, some of the most flavor-packed sours, and definitely some of the coolest/funniest beer labels out there. Similar to J Wakefield (read about them here), I had heard their name and reputation from CO brewery friends who wanted to get a spot at one of their invitationals. So we trekked the 25 min from downtown out to Doral to soak in all the Tripping Animals we could.
Check out the artwork first!

Seeing as creating beer label art is still something I do for work, this was a first stop for me when I walked in. Just inside the door, they have a room with posters featuring the artwork from past labels wallpapering the entire space. If you're not familiar with their art style, it's all different variations of animals tripping out of their minds usually. They're hilarious, they're weird, it's one of my favorite things about them and makes finding their cans on the shelf super easy. The first time I found a can in Oregon at a bottle shop, I instantly knew it was them. So if you swing by, grab a seat in here and take it all in.

You're Gonna Want To Try It All.
Whether you're in the mood for an IPA, a sour, a pilsner, or a big pastry stout, Tripping Animals has you covered. We went our usual flight route so we could try as many as possible. So many places will have 10 IPAs that just alternate the same 4 hops in different orders and act like they all taste different; not Tripping Animals. Want peach/apricot and a little tangerine? There's an IPA like that. More in the mood for an IPA with some mango/pineapple/passion fruit hop flavors? They've got that too. They had a great dry, biting West Coast IPA on, plus a super refreshing Mexican Lager. And you wanna talk about absolutely killer sours?!? Their Banana Cream Pie sour was a show stopper for sure. The amount of banana flavor coming through was amazing, the sweetness from the marshmallow and lactose balanced out the tartness. It was so damn good. Definitely get yourself over there if you end up in the Miami area.
Where should we stay?
Home Depot in The Hammocks to the rescue.
Looking for a Cracker Barrel to park at in Miami? Good luck, it's impossible, they literally don't exist close to here. If you wanna be close to some of the best beer around the city though, head out to Kendall. This specific one is in The Hammocks area - 15750 SW 88th St, Miami, FL 33196 - with some grocery stores and a Planet Fitness close, you'll also be close to Strange Beast, Lincoln's Beard, Unseen Creatures, and Tripping Animals. #craftbeer #miami #trippinganimals #doral #craftbeer
