What got us started, what we're doing on the road, and where we're going.

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

This is where it all starts...

Have you ever had an idea that seemed too bonkers to just jump into? Something you saw other people doing and wondered "How do they make that work?" Us too.

Hey, we're Bekah and Farmer. We ditched our place in Denver in 2019 with the idea of buying a Ram Promaster to build out and try living life on the road. That was already a wild idea, and then a month after we bought the van, Covid closed everything down and we had to pivot on the spot. So we put our heads down, worked around the clock, finished the van in a couple of months, and set out on the road!

Why'd We Do This?!?

We never had any intention of "living the #vanlife" kinda thing, we genuinely just wanted to change things up. We took a birthday trip to Hawaii and loved it there so much we started daydreaming about how we could make it work and our brains drifted to the idea of coming home, building a van, and shipping it over to roam around Oahu while doing design and photography work for breweries and restaurants around the island. So we researched for about a year to figure out how to make that happen, what our layout would look like, how to build different parts, and started to make moves...then Covid hit.

Changing Directions

Can we even get to Hawaii?!?

That was one of the first questions we had to ask ourselves once the pandemic hit. Was this idea even possible now? As Hawaii locked down, we realized it also meant that if we were to get there, that was as far as we were going to be able to go for a while. So we switched it up and decided to see as much of the US as we could before we went to Hawaii. We were essentially isolating ourselves but also visiting some of the most amazing landscapes in the country.

A Year In, We're Still Seeing New Places

We spent the first year heading from Colorado up to Michigan, over to Philly, down to Charleston, Atlanta, Asheville, Nashville, Louisville, and back. We got to see our friends from a distance, over patio beers or across a park, with long stretches of majestic scenery in between. In keeping with our need to avoid the cold at all costs, we went south west, landing in what would become our home for most of winter and spring - San Diego. We reconnected with old friends, met incredible new ones, fell in love with the city, and drank amazing beers before heading out to see family in Seattle. Similarly, we got to see faces old and new all along the way up and around the PNW til we got back to Colorado in the early summer of 2021. And that's where we had the idea to build this site - a resource for others on the road, a travelogue of our favorite places, a way for us to catalog our memories, and a place to spread the word of our friends who do amazing things around the country. So explore, follow along, and share anything you like on here. Hit us up with any questions or suggestions, and we'll see ya out there on the road!
